Tommy Thomas has more than fifteen years of experience designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable web applications for public-sector and academic institutions. Before joining ISAC, he served for over a decade as a Software Engineer at the University of Chicago, where he led full-stack development of custom PHP applications and APIs, managed large-scale Drupal infrastructures supporting more than 100 websites, and implemented CI/CD pipelines across hybrid on-premise and cloud environments. His work has been recognized for its reliability, security, and thoughtful attention to user needs.
At ISAC, Tommy supports and advances the Institute’s digital research platforms, collections data services, and public-facing web applications. His expertise in enterprise web architecture, DevOps, and human-centered design aligns closely with ISAC’s goals of building sustainable, accessible, and innovative digital tools in support of scholarship and public engagement.
