The Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures Museum welcomes and encourages researchers to make use of its collections. We have a wide-ranging and rich collection of objects from West Asia and North Africa alongside their photography that is available for study, consultation, and publication.

Research Visits

We make every effort to fulfill research requests; however, access to some materials may be restricted under certain circumstances (such as but not limited to publication status, inaccessibility, time constraints, and object stability and fragility). 

Requests must be submitted at least six (6) months in advance of the desired dates for a research visit that involves access to the ISAC Museum Collections.

Images & Reproduction Permission

Publication, distribution, exhibition, or reproduction of images (print, electronic, online, or other media) is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures Museum obtained through a digital image permission request. More information can be found in the reproduction guidelines for photographs of Museum objects. Photographs can also be requested for research or personal reference. 

Please allow at least three (3) weeks for the request to be fulfilled; additional time will be necessary if new photography is required.

Object Permit to Publish

Permission must be requested to publish an object in the ISAC Museum collections if it has not been previously fully published (i.e., with some sort of illustration; not just a text reference).
