Chicago Demotic Dictionary 2 Ꜣ

This volume presents a preliminary draft of part for the Chicago Demotic Dictionary, a comprehensive resource for the study of Demotic, a late stage of the ancient Egyptian language written in a highly cursive script. It provides detailed lexical analysis, meanings, variant writings, transliterations, translations, and references from Demotic texts.

Each entry brings together evidence from papyri, ostraca, inscriptions, and other sources, reflecting the CDD’s method of documenting words within their linguistic, textual, and historical contexts.
