Studies in Ancient Oriental Civilization 9

In northwestern Asia Minor a few old people in certain villages still kept alive the remnants of a language which Dr. von Meszaros considered a descendant of the ancient pre-Hittite tongue. In two monographs he gave respectively a complete treatise on this survival, which he calls "Päkhy," and a discussion of the pre-Hittite language with special reference to its elucidation by Päkhy parallels.
