The Temple of King Sethos I at Abydos, Volume IV: The Second Hypostyle Hall

The area covered by the eighty plates of the present volume is the Second Hypostyle. The Second or Inner Hypostyle Hall differs from its eastern neighbor by having had its roof supported by three instead of two rows of twelve columns each, with the resultant west-east measurement of fifteen-and-a-half meters in place of eleven. It also marks the limit of the full decoration in the easterly direction completed by Seti I during his lifetime and left intact, or nearly so, by his son and successor Ramesses II.
