November 16, 2017, 3:00-3:30 pm and 3:30-4:00 pm
Please join us for the unique opportunity to receive a special half-hour guided tour of the Oriental Institute special exhibit "Book of the Dead: Becoming God in Ancient Egypt" from the exhibition curator, Dr. Foy Scalf. The exhibit highlights the newest research on the Book of the Dead by exploring what the Book of the Dead meant to the ancient Egyptians through two 30 foot long papyri and nearly 50 rarely displayed objects more than 2,000 years old. You will discover how the ancient Egyptians believed the use of text and elaborate imagery allowed them to live forever as gods.
Registration is strictly limited to 15 people per tour. Please meet in the Oriental Institute Lobby and check in upon arrival.
