I. Education:

  • BS, Indiana University at Indianapolis, May, 1974

II. Work Experience:

  • 2000 – present: Volunteer (Data Architect) for Diyala Project, Oriental Institute, University of Chicago
  • August 1965 — November 15, 2000 (retirement):Indiana Bell; Ameritech; SBC   
  • July 1998 through November 2000: Enterprise-wide data architect [Title:  Principal Technical Architect for Data] for Ameritech (later SBC). Responsible for strategies addressing database rationalization across SBC business units, data security policy, information privacy policies, information metadata standardization and other strategic activities that were information and database related.
  • August 1995 through July 1998: Data architect for the Complex Business Unit of Ameritech.  Responsible for creating unit-wide logical data models, interacting with requirements analysts to create logical data models for specific business unit applications, supervising database administrators responsible for actual construction and maintenance of physical databases.
  • January 1990 through July 1995: Member of Ameritech Data Management Group.  Acted as Lead Analyst of a self-directed team providing data modeling and data administration consulting services to Information Technology (IT) projects across Ameritech.  Acted as principal author of the initial “Ameritech Handbook for Data Management”, issued as a guideline to IT projects within Ameritech.
  • July 1965 through December 1989: Many IT projects and responsibilities for Ameritech and Indiana Bell such as analyst/programmer for IBM-360 deployment within Indiana Bell, supervisor of IMS Database Support and multiple assignments as project manager for IT implementation projects.  Some projects were Bell System-wide projects in scope.
