The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago: Fifth Edition
This handbook provides an introduction to the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago. It begins by describing the basic task of the Institute and the physical headquarters in Chicago, before moving on to outline the geographical scope of the Institute’s activities. The remainder of the handbook is then devoted to the various field expeditions sponsored by the Institute and to the process by which archaeological remains are uncovered, analyzed, interpreted, and presented to the public.
