The Journal of Near Eastern Studies is a semiannual (April and October) publication of the University of Chicago’s Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Since 1884, JNES has published contributions from scholars of international reputation on the archaeology, art, history, languages, literatures, philosophies, and religions of Egypt and the Near East. All volumes dating back to Vol. 1 (1942) are now available through the University of Chicago Press.
