They Wrote on Clay: The Babylonian Tablets Speak Today By Edward Chiera Edited by George G. Cameron
This volume aimed to connect Assyriology with the public and show ordinary reader the important information we may secure from the ancient "books of clay." Professor Chiera, through his combination of brilliant scholarship and gift of felicitous presentation of his subject, was especially well qualified to achieve this goal. Although, the first draft of this volume was written by Chiera, his untimely death prevented him to realize his dream. Thus, with the requests of Chiera’s friends and wife, George G. Cameron edited Chiera’s draft and prepared this volume.
