A Guide to the Oriental Institute Museum Leon Marfoe, and Peter T. Daniels and Valerie M. Fargo, eds.
Published in 1982, A Guide to The Oriental Institute Museum was intended for the use of Museum visitors, to familiarize them with the various parts of the collection and to provide necessary historical background, as well as to give some idea of the scope and richness of the collection. In each of eight sections — corresponding to Egypt, Assyria, Anatolia, Syria, Mesopotamia, Iran, Palestine, and the Islamic period — a historical narrative is followed by detailed descriptions of objects from these regions and eras that were on display at the time of publication.
