John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Centenary Exhibition: A Productive Collaboration 1919–1935
This catalogue documents an exhibition held in December 1974 at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago in honor of the centenary of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. The exhibition focused on Rockefeller’s relationship with the Oriental Institute and especially on his relationship with James Henry Breasted, which began before the founding of the Institute in 1919 and extended until 1935. Particular emphasis was placed on the beginnings of the Oriental Institute, but the exhibition also chronicled several other Oriental Institute enterprises in which Rockefeller had a direct interest.
