VIA LAKE SHORE DRIVE

  1. Take Lake Shore Drive south, from downtown Chicago, to the 47th Street exit.
  2. Drive west on 47th Street to Woodlawn Avenue (the third stoplight), and turn left.
  3. Drive south on Woodlawn Avenue to 58th Street, and turn right.
  4. Continue one block to 1155 East 58th Street (left side of street), at University Avenue.

VIA I-94 (Dan Ryan Expressway)

  1. Take I-94 south from downtown, or north from Indiana, to the Garfield Blvd. (55th Street) exit.
  2. Drive east on Garfield Blvd. through Washington Park, where Garfield Blvd. becomes 55th Street.
  3. Continue east along 55th Street to Woodlawn Avenue, and turn right.
  4. Drive south on Woodlawn Avenue to 58th Street, and turn right.
  5. Continue one block to 1155 East 58th Street (left side of street), at University Avenue.

VIA I-55 (Stevenson Expressway)

  1. Take I-55 east until it ends at Lake Michigan, exiting on Lake Shore Drive south.
  2. Take Lake Shore Drive south to the 47th Street exit.
  3. Continue west to Woodlawn Avenue (the third stoplight), and turn left.
  4. Drive south on Woodlawn Avenue to 58th Street, and turn right.
  5. Continue one block to 1155 East 58th Street (left side of street), at University Avenue.

VIA CHICAGO SKYWAY:

  1. Take the Chicago Skyway north to the Stony Island exit, and continue north.
  2. After 60th Street, turn left onto a divided boulevard, the Midway Plaisance.
  3. At Woodlawn Avenue (the second stoplight), turn right.
  4. Drive two blocks north on Woodlawn Avenue to 58th Street and turn left.
  5. Continue one block to 1155 East 58th Street (left side of street), at University Avenue.

VIA CTA TRAIN/BUS FROM O'HARE AIRPORT

  1. From inside O'Hare Airport, follow the signs "Trains To City".
  2. Purchase a train ticket WITH A TRANSFER for the CTA bus.
  3. Exit the train at either the Washington, Monroe, or Jackson Street stations in downtown Chicago, and proceed up to street level on Dearborn Street.
  4. Walk one block east to State Street.
  5. Take the Jeffrey Express CTA bus (Number 6) south to Hyde Park, which is on the south side of Chicago.
  6. Get off the bus at 57th Street, adjacent to the Museum of Science and Industry.
  7. Walk west on 57th Street for nine blocks to University Avenue.
  8. Turn left, and walk one block to 58th Street.
  9. The Institute is on the southeast corner, 1155 East 58th Street.

VIA CW LIMOUSINE SERVICE FROM O'HARE AIRPORT

  1. From inside O'Hare Airport, follow the signs for Ground Transportation.
  2. Ask an attendant where to board the CW Limousine Service to Hyde Park, on the south side of Chicago.
  3. Exit the limousine at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel stop, on the University of Chicago campus.
  4. Walk one block north on Woodlawn Avenue to 58th Street.
  5. Turn left, and walk one block to University Avenue.
  6. The Institute is on the southeast corner, 1155 East 58th Street.

VIA CTA TRAIN/BUS FROM MIDWAY AIRPORT

  1. From inside Midway Airport, follow the signs "Trains To City".
  2. Enter the "Skybridge" which connects the airport with the CTA station, crossing Cicero Avenue.
  3. Purchase a train ticket WITH A TRANSFER for the CTA bus.
  4. Exit the train at the State/Lake station in downtown Chicago, and proceed down to street level on State Street.
  5. Take the Jeffrey Express CTA bus (Number 6) south to Hyde Park on the southside of Chicago.
  6. Get off the bus at 57th Street, adjacent to the Museum of Science and Industry.
  7. Walk west on 57th Street for nine blocks to University Avenue.
  8. Turn left, and walk one block to 58th Street.
  9. The Institute is on the southeast corner, 1155 East 58th Street.

VIA CTA BUS FROM MIDWAY AIRPORT

  1. From inside Midway Airport, follow the signs "Trains To City".
  2. Proceed to the place where you purchase a CTA train ticket, which is located at the bus terminal for Midway Airport.
  3. Take the Garfield Blvd. (55th Street) bus east (approximately 30-45 minutes) to Hyde Park on the southside of Chicago.
  4. Get off the bus at University Avenue., and walk three blocks south to 58th Street.
  5. The Institute is on the southeast corner, 1155 East 58th Street.

VIA METRA TRAIN FROM DOWNTOWN

  1. From the Randolph Street Station, at Randolph Street and Michigan Ave., take the Metra Electric (ME) train south to the 59th Street (Univ. of Chicago) stop. NOTE: ALL TRAINS STOP AT 59TH STREET.
  2. Exit the station, turn right, and walk west on 59th Street for five blocks to Woodlawn Avenue (at Rockefeller Chapel).
  3. Turn right, and walk one block north to 58th Street.
  4. Turn left, and walk one block west to University Avenue.
  5. The Institute is on the southeast corner, 1155 East 58th Street.
